"I want to tell you what a great time we had with your rafting company. Everything was so well organized, so thorough, well prepared, no short cuts taken, so much fun and fully worth the price in all ways. I don't find myself saying that much these days but I say it freely regarding Magic Falls and your staff. Thank you for treating us as guests and yet friends at the same time."
Richard T, Chester County, PA

"Thanks for an amazing adventure. 11 Wild Women rafting! Thank goodness we got the DVD because no one would believe we really did it. We had a blast. You run a class operation. All of your guides were hospitable and respectful. The whole adventure was perfect."
Lee-Ann G., Portsmouth. NH

"It was my wife's 50th birthday and she wanted to celebrate in a special way. The trip we had was indeed special. What made it special was the way the employees and river guides catered to our group. She couldn't have celebrated her 50th any better."
Sal C., Needham Heights, MA

"On behalf of the Concord NH Hog Chapter, we want to thank all the staff for the wonderful experience we had this past 4th of July weekend. The food, accommodations and rafting all exceeded our expectations. Kudos to our guide for a job well done!!!!"

Kennebec River Whitewater Rafting

Experience Maine Whitewater Rafting -View our Whitewater Rafting Video

One Day Kennebec River Whitewater Rafting Adventure

The Kennebec River Gorge is one of the most beautiful in the East with steep rock walls covered with conifers on both sides, and with many waves that are four to six feet high.  You'll paddle into rapids with names like Big Mama, White Washer, and the famous Magic Falls. Then, with the rapids behind you, jump in and float with the current while you feel the power of the river, taking you downstream.

After your raft trip, enjoy a hearty meal of steak, chicken, fish or veggie burger, rice pilaf, cole slaw, roll, lemonade and our homemade berry cake, followed by a slide and video show of your trip. You'll relive the  big hits of your trip!

Four times each year the power company tests the turbines of Harris Station.  The waterflow is wide open to 8,000 cfs-a truly special, thrilling ride almost twice the usual waterflow.  These 2012 Kennebec High Water releases are scheduled for June 16, July 9, September 8 and September 22.

We try our hardest to offer the highest quality river experience at the lowest possible prices available.  We incorporate all river access fees  and taxes assessed by the State of Maine, power company and landowners into our pricing so you are not charged extra.

Rates from $60-$110 per person

(Minimum Age: 10 years.)

Overnight "Out-Back" Camping Adventures

You'll raft the exciting Kennebec River Gorge on day one. (Some days we do Fun Yaks on day one.) Then enjoy a hearty BBQ followed by a slide and video show of your trip. After a refreshing dip in the cool water, you'll take a back-road safari in our van, on the lookout for wildlife including moose, deer, eagles and osprey.

Back at the overnight site along the Dead River and near our base camp, you can lounge in our hot tub, take a shower, and use our other modern facilities. Set up your tent. Sit around the bonfire. Enjoy a few cold, frosty beverages and hors d'oeuvres. For dinner, you have a choice of lobster, steak or chicken, served with corn on the cob, baked potatoes and all the trimmings. After supper we will make hot apple crisp, homemade ice cream and the campers' favorite, s'mores.

The next day, enjoy breakfast prepared over an open fire, raft the upper Kennebec Gorge followed by six miles of Class II and III whitewater paddling a fun yak (inflatable kayak). Sport Boat - Whitewater Raft

A sport boat is a 13-foot long raft, the smallest the State of Maine allows on the Kennebec River. These rafts are very responsive especially on lower water flows, so you can surf and play in the smaller rapids. Magic Falls Rafting Co was the first company to offer this kind of trip.
