"Thank you, David and Donna for the excellent time we had last weekend, it was the best time ever! Want to do it again in the fall. Thank you so much again, it was great seeing you."
- Andy M.
"Dave, we had an AWESOME time with you! Thanks for getting us down the river safely. I'd love to come up again this summer... Maybe when it's a bit warmer, but that was the best Cinco de Mayo! You and the Magic Falls crew are fantastic."
- Kelsey H.
"I just had to let you know that the crew from Johnny’s Selected Seeds had an AWESOME time on Friday, June 15th! Out of the six of us, four had never been white water rafting before and we all loved it! I can speak for myself and tell you I could easily be addicted to rafting! The weather was unbelievable. The lunch was really good and our guide, Chris was fantastic! We will request him again. I do believe we may book again in the fall. I don’t think I can wait until next year! :) Thanks again!"
- Cathy P., Winslow, ME
"I want to tell you what a great time we had with your rafting company. Everything was so well organized, so thorough, well prepared, no short cuts taken, so much fun and fully worth the price in all ways. I don't find myself saying that much these days but I say it freely regarding Magic Falls and your staff. Thank you for treating us as guests and yet friends at the same time."
- Richard T, Chester County, PA
Maine Outdoor Adventures
There are many activities at our base in West Forks when you are not on the river. We have volleyball, horse shoes, Frisbee golf, hiking, lots of trails for biking (bring your bike), swimming, fishing and tubing on the Dead River. One of the most fun and challenging activities is our on-site, outdoor Climbing Tower. We were the first rafting outfitter in Maine to have one. Ours is 25 feet tall and features overhangs and high angle climbs! This is fun and exciting for all ages!

Overnight "Out-Back" Camping Adventures
(Must be a group of at least 8)
June through August, experience Maine’s wilderness with this mini adventure just “out-back” of Magic Falls Base Camp. You'll raft the exciting Kennebec River Gorge on day one. Then enjoy a hearty BBQ followed by a slide and video show of your trip. Next, we will drive you to 90-foot Moxie Falls where you can take pictures and swim in the pools above the falls. After a refreshing dip in the cool water, you'll take a back-road safari in our van, on the lookout for wildlife including moose, deer, eagles and osprey.
Upon return to base camp, we will check you into our cabin tents, located along the Dead River where you can also use our other facilities. Sit around the bonfire, enjoy a few cold, frosty beverages (alcohol permitted in moderation) and hors d'oeuvres. For dinner, you have a choice of lobster, steak or chicken, served with corn on the cob, baked potatoes and all the trimmings. After supper we will make hot apple crisp, homemade ice cream and the campers' favorite, s'mores.
The next day, enjoy breakfast prepared over an open fire, raft the upper Kennebec Gorge and finished by 1:00PM. All trips include a Registered Maine Guide, safety instruction, equipment, and transportation.
We supply thick sleeping pads, food, guides, river equipment, dry bags and transportation.
You supply pillow, warm clothes, rain gear, shorts, sturdy footwear, flashlight, sleeping bag, insect repellent.
One of our sepecialties! A Fun Yak is an inflatable kayak, often described as a cross between a raft and a canoe. They are available to rent for flat-water kayaking on your own or sign up for instruction with a registered Maine whitewater guide on the lower Kennebec River with lots of Class II whitewater and plenty of surfing and hole playing. We'll take a short hike to 90-foot Moxie Falls where you can swim in the crystal clear pools and enjoy a picnic lunch.
Lower Kennebec Float Trips
A safe, scenic, and gentle, four-hour guided rafting tour on a lower portion of the Kennebec. No whitewater here. View the magnificent flora and fauna along the riverbanks. Linger on the shore for a snack and a swim. Spend the night at the Dead River Lodge. Build a bonfire, cook hot dogs, hamburgers and s'mores, and treat yourself to some homemade ice cream. Help yourself to a continental breakfast the next morning. $125 per person/minimum four (at least one adult).
